ea777 Games apk Last year, we opened Lightning Lap to the Subaru AirSlayer and the Garage 56 Chevrolet Camaro and seemingly punched a hole into an alternate universe where megadownforce and grotesque displays of power rule the land. This time around, Ford wanted to show off its new pickup.

ea777 Games apk This is no ordinary pickup. The F-150 Lightning SuperTruck is the product of Ford Performance and Austrian-based STARD. It’s built to show the potential of electric race vehicles in places such as Pikes Peak. Despite having to stop for nearly 30 seconds during its Pikes Peak run to reset its electrical systems, the SuperTruck was this year’s King of the Hill.

Seemingly designed on another planet, the massive front splitter,ea777 Games apk  rear diffuser, rear wing, and even the little winglets where the mirrors would be have the potential to create 6000 pounds of downforce at 150 mph. To move all that air requires colossal power, and the SuperTruck’s four electric motors combine for a freight-train-like 2200 horsepower.

Learning the ins and outs of this pickup would take more than the two laps we spent behind the wheel, but our brief experience gave us a deep appreciation for its speed, grip, handling, and at-the-limit friendliness. Without much time to learn the SuperTruck, we broke with convention and let professional racer Romain Dumas join us for a day of “work.”

It didn’t take long for Dumas to learn the track despite the SuperTruck’s roughly 50-kWh battery, which burns through 60 percent of a charge in a lap and requires a stream of dry-ice-cooled air to rapidly chill its heat exchangers between runs.

ea777 Games apk Dumas let us join him for a ride, and it’s evident that the SuperTruck shares nothing with the production Lightning other than maybe the seat height. Just as we start thinking we’ll do a lap to talk about the truck, Dumas instructs us to start the timer. He’s going for it, and we’re left hanging from the safety harness like a baby dangling from a Johnny Jump Up. The carbon-ceramic rotors and regenerative braking deliver such tremendous force that the seatbelts filet the groin. Dumas handles the steering wheel like it owes him something. And it does: a 2:25.3 lap. So, technically, we’ve co-piloted a record-setting lap.

With the ride height raised and the downforce reduced, Dumas sets off alone. From the flag tower, the SuperTruck sounds like an F-18 as it rips by at a blistering 191.4 mph. The Pirelli P Zero race slicks deliver 1.43 g’s in Turn 1, but the Climbing Esses defy reality. Dumas enters at 187.6 mph and then brakes for the first right-hander before accelerating back up the hill and exiting the corner at 155.5 mph. In every sector, the SuperTruck’s stats are just as shocking.
